Our second state conference and scientific seminar
“Genesis 2006” was held on 2nd April, 2006 at Hotel
Presidency, Kochi. About 300 delegates attended the
function from all over Kerala and also from
Tamilnadu and Karnataka.
At 10 am, our guest of the day Dr. Abdul Asiz, Vice
Chancellor of Cochin University of Science and
Technology(CUSAT) arrived at the venue. Dr, Swaroop
Kumar and Dr. Narayana Pai who headed the reception
committee welcomed the guests. The other guests of
the day also arrived simultaneously. Dr. Janardhanan
, Principal Dr. Padiyar Memorial Homoeopathic
Medical College, Dr. Sunil Raj, Chief Editor of
Homoeopathy Service of KGHMOA and all Patrons and
Executive members of IHMA were given a warm welcome.
The programme started with silent prayer, followed
by Masters’ remembrance, and homage to Dr. Jayaram,
a veteran homoeopath who passed away last January.
Dr. M.R. Gopalakrishna Pillai, chairman of ‘Genesis
2006’ welcomed the guests and delegates. State
President Dr. T.K. Harindranath addressed the
audience and then the chief guest Dr. Abdul Asiz,
after inaugurating the conference highlighted the
need of scientific research in Homoeopathy and
promised that he will be happy to provide research
facilities at CUSAT for those who are interested in
the field of research in homoeopathy.
Our guest of honour, Dr. M.G. Oommen, National
President of IHMA addressed the audience and once
again stressed the need for an association like IHMA
among the doctors of homoeopathy.
The key note address was done by Dr. V. R. Girish
kumar, Gen.Secretary of IHMA who praised the
organizers of ‘Genesis 2006’ for making the event a
successful one.
The felicitations were done by Dr. R.Janardhanan and
Dr. Sunil Raj.
Dr. Asok Kumar G. Menon, Director of Genesis 2006
expressed vote of thanks.
At 11.30 am the inaugural ceremony ended and a short
tea break was allotted.
At 11.45 am scientific session I – Changing trends
in management of Infertility started. Dr.
V.P.Subhash (CRAFT) took over the dais and his
lecture on Male infertility captured the delegate’s
attention. His class was short, supported by audio
visual slides and cases. A 15 minute session for
clarification of doubts was allotted.
At 12.30 pm Dr. Sowdamini of CRAFT took class on
female infertility. Lots of cases and also
descriptive videos enhanced the lecture. Each phase
of session was narrated to the root level with
examples and cases shown on monitor. A 15 minute
session allowed for clearing doubts, took nearly 35
minutes, since delegate’s doubts were too much. All
the doubts were cleared and the first part of
scientific session dispersed for Banquet.
Post lunch session included lucky draws and the
winners were given prizes right on the spot itself.
At 2.30 pm, scientific session II started. Dr.K Saji
who presented with Homoeopathic management of
infertility was on the dais. He had distributed his
cases and research work papers among delegates. All
were asked to follow his lecture and also go through
the research work. The class was very much
informative and easy to follow. All his cases were
visually presented over the monitor.
It was with
great difficulty we had to do a short break up of
class for tea break. Session continued with further
volley of cases from Dr. Saji’s quiver. All of the
delegates were glued to his lecture. Clarifications
of doubts were done. At 5 pm, Dr. Saji’s session
ended with audience giving him a standing ovation.
The CME certificates were then issued to the
delegates. At 5.15 p.m, General Body of IHMA started
with working report by General Secretary Dr. V.R.
Girish Kumar which was passed unanimously.
Installation of
new office bearers for the coming year was done. Dr
M. Premachandran state president of IHMA was
welcomed to the dais with new members for the next
year. Dr. Narayan Pai was selected as the state
General Secretary. The meeting ended at 5.45 pm with
national anthem. The major news papers of state
covered the seminar and next day’s dailies featured
the reports with photos of inaugural ceremony and
also that of the new office bearers.
