Pavithram-09- IHMA North Zone conference and Scientific Seminar was held on 9th August 2009 at KK Residency, Payyannur .Payyannur -the temple town situated in the erstwhile Malabar- is famous for Payyannur Pavithra moathiram. Homoeopathy and Payannur has something in common and that is Payyannurpaattu and its German connection.

This seminar was organized by the Kasaragod chapter of IHMA with accreditation from the TC medical council as per letter no. K -1492/09/MC/CME. About 350 delegates participated.

The scientific session was inaugurated by Dr.Roshan Pinto (Hon.National President, IHMA)Dr.Itty Ravi presided over the function. Dr.M.Radhakrishnan Nair(President, IHMA Kasaragod chapter) welcomed the gathering. Dr. Ratheesh P.(treasurer, Kassaragod chapter) introduced the faculty.

 Dr.Manoj Kumar KP(secretary, Kasaragod chapter) proposed the vote of thanks. Then Dr.Mohammed Aleem started with his session “Understanding Miasms through ABO Blood Groups. Dr.Mohammed Aleem is a renowned Homoeopathic prescriber from Chennai who is a disciple of veteran homoeopath, Dr. S.P.Koppikar. The topic was very original and would make a new entry point into miasms for easy comprehension. Dr. E.S. Rajendran former Dean, Vinayaka Missions Homoeopathic Medical College, Salem) took two sessions – Homoeopathy and modern medical sciences and also Homoeopathy in the management of acute diseases.

IHMA North Zone conference was inaugurated by Prof K.P. Jayarajan (Controller of Examinations, Kannur University) Dr.V.K.Ajith Kumar(President,IHMA Kerala State chapter) presided over. Dr. M. Premachandran (Hon Secretary General, IHMA) was the Guest of honour .He distributed the IHMA Life membership certificates.

It is heartening to note that 23 doctors from Kasargod chapter took life membership of IHMA this year. Dr.G .Suresh Babu (Gen Sec , IHMA State chapter) delivered the keynote address. Dr.A.Basheer(conference chairman) welcomed the gathering. Dr.SunilRaj R., Gen.Sec. KGHMOA and Dr. KP Sudhakaran Nair felicitated.
