Indian Homoeopathic Medical Association, Chennai
Chapter organized Convergence - 2010, a one-day
seminar on “The management of Gastro Intestinal
disorders”, on 31st January 2010, at Benzz Park, T
nagar, Chennai. Dr.S.Sreejeev, Former National
President, IHMA, inaugurated the Seminar. In his
address he stressed the importance of a national
platform to fight out our problems.we have a long
way ahead and urged all the doctors to participate
actively to achieve the goals.
In the morning session Dr.R.Srinath,MBBS,
FRCS, Director, JV Hospitals, Chennai, spoke on the
Recent advances and general management of GIT
disorders, He emphasized the fact that treating a
patient conservatively for too long ,when he needs a
surgery may prove to be very detrimental. Dr.Veena
Noronha, MBBS, DMRD, DNB, consultant radiologist,
VRR Scans, Chennai, presented her topic on
Diagnostic tools for GIT disorders. She gave a vivid
picture as to how the field of radiology has evolved
from a plain x-ray to contrast x-ray, then USG
followed by CT scan, MRI scan, PET scan etc.
In the afternoon session Dr.G.Harikumar, MBBS,
BHMS, BAMS, MD DIP, N&Y. CMO, MLA’S Health clinic
Trivandrum, shared his view on the Homoeopathic
management of Non – surgical disorders of GIT.
Before he could present his topic proper, he shared
his own personnel views on the homoeopathic system,
the state of emotion travels basically from
materialism to dynamism to lifism or vice - versa
and can turn either way with environment and time.
The miasms Psora, Syphilis and Sycosis are present
in every being and balancing these miasms can
restore health.
Followed by Prof.S.Praveenkumar, MD (Hom).
HOD, Dept of medicine, JSPS Homoeopathic Medical
college, Hyderabad, who spoke on the topic,
“Homoeopathic management of surgical disorders of
GIT”. He opened his speech with an appeal to
understand what are those cases, which needs surgery
and their supporting points in organon. He presented
many surgical cases, which he approached in
different methods – either with a classical approach
or in a pathological way.
Dr.V.Vasudevan, chapter president, welcomed the
gathering and.Dr.B.Anantharaman, chapter Secretary,
proposed the vote of thanks. The seminar was well
attended by many senior doctors.

ANNIVERSARY WAS CELEBRATED IN A GRAND MANNER ON
APRIL 6TH AT HOTEL RAJ PALACE, T.NAGAR CHENNAI. DR
RAVINDRAN, CHAPTER SECRETARY, WELCOMED THE GATHERING
AND DR KUMARESAN, CHAPTER PRESIDENT PRESIDED OVER
THE FUNCTION.
THIS WAS FOLLOWED BY HAHNEMANN MEMORIAL LECTURE BY
EMINENT PHYSICIAN DR.V.VASUDEVAN FROM CHENNAI, HE
REFLECTED HAHNEMANN'S UPBRINGING AND OTHER VARIOUS
DIMENSIONS OF HIM.HIS ORGANAN WAS REVISITED AND A
FEW IMPORTANT APHORISMS REMEMBERED. HE ALSO TOOK THE
OPPURTUNITY TO SHOW A FEW WONDERFUL CURES AND WAS
WELL APPRECIATED.
IN SECOND SESSION DR.K.SAJI FROM CALICUT, KERALA
GAVE VALUABLE TIPS IN ONCOLOGY AND ITS THERAPEUTICS
WITH A FEW CASE STUDIES FROM HIS EXPERIENCE. HIS
APPROACH TO THE CASE TAKING WAS VERY SIMPLE AND WAS
WELL ACCEPTED.HE HAD ALSO TAKEN PAIN TO BRING OUT A
REPORTORY IN ONCOLOGY WHICH INCLUDED A LOT OF RARE
MEDICINES.
OUR SECOND CME PROGRAMME ENDED WITH AN INTERESTING
DISCUSSION AND THE VOTE OF THANKS BY DR ANANTHRAMAN
FOLLOWED BY HIGH TEA.
